I started my career in higher education as an adjunct faculty and tutor at Great Basin College. While teaching developmental English, I realized conversations I had with students outside of class had a critical, positive impact on student success, so I began to explore a career in student affairs. I was the Retention Coordinator at GBC for two years before relocating with my family to Reno, where I decided to finally pursue a Master’s degree.
I love being a part of helping students reach their academic and personal goals, and particularly enjoy working with transfer students and students returning to college. In addition to working with students, I am the Assessment Coordinator and Peer Advisor Supervisor for the advising department. I earned a BA in English Literature from Boise State University and an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Reno. I am also an MBTI® and Strong Interest Inventory Certified Practioner.
I love to spend time outdoors with my family, cook delicious meals (but not clean them up), and check things off my to-do list.
