About me:
Hello! My name is Ben. I'm a full-time Academic Advisor with Truckee Meadows Community College and have been with the school since 2016.
In my own academics, I often found myself feeling under-supported, if not outright lost, in the navigation of higher education. I had no idea what I wanted to major in, I was continually dropping or failing classes, and I began to think that school simply wasn't for me--that I wasn't cut out for it. Over the years, I've had the chance to talk to thousands of students, and a great many of them feel similarly to how I felt as a student. This is the reason I enjoy my job. I get to dispel myths, provide guidance, and help students to understand that even though they may be feeling their academic career is in a rough spot, that doesn't mean they no longer have a bright future. These were the things I wanted somebody to tell me when I was struggling, but in many ways I had to figure it out on my own. My goal is for you to not have to do that.
So if you're feeling like college is getting the best of you, you're in good company. Feel free to book an appointment with me. We can discuss all of the pitfalls and confusion that a great many students endure, and I'll do my best to show you that you've got people in your corner every step of the way while you're here at TMCC. - Limited Same-Day Appointments : Mon & Thur

A minimum of 24 hours advance notice is requested for cancellations, please.
If you are late for an appointment you may be encouraged to schedule a follow-up appointment as we may not have time to review everything. We'll do our best, though.
